Dorothy Doring is a Twin Cities Jazz Vocalist who brings her eclectic musical background into her jazz performance.
Dorothy Doring grew up singing in her hometown of Montevideo, Minnesota. She sang solos at church, school, 4-H and for community events. Doring earned a B.S. in Vocal Music from Moorhead State University and a Masters in Education from Saint Mary's University.
Dorothy has sung everything from country to rock, to blues and jazz.
1970's Dorothy sang full time six nights a week at Twin Cities nightclubs doing top 40's and standards for both listening and dancing.
1980's Dorothy gigged primarily for wedding dances and corporate parties
performing a mixture of tunes and styles for all ages and audiences.
1990's Dorothy began studying vocal jazz repertoire concentrating on the American Songbook and gigged club dates with Twin Cities jazz musicians.
1999 - Released debut CD "About Time" self produced in the Twin Cities
2006 - Released "Southern Exposure" recorded & produced in New Orleans
2013 - Released Duo CD with Phil Mattson "Compositions"
2014 - Doring free lances and sings with numerous musical groups while
balancing her gigging performances with her full-time position as a Vocal Music Specialist for the Saint Paul Public Schools.
