During the 70's Doring sang professionally six nights a week at local Twin Cities nightclubs until the 80's when she primarily took gigs for corporate parties and private events.

By the mid 90's Dorothy made the transition into studying the American Songbook concentrating on classic jazz repertoire and ventured back into doing a mixture of club dates.

About Time: 1999 self-produced debut album with Billy Holloman on B3 Hammond organ, Donald Thomas on drums and Loren Walstad on guitar.

Minnesota based singer Dorothy Doring frequently draws from the well of Big Easy inspiration. She recorded her CD "Southern Exposure" here with local keyboard wizard David Torkanowsky as musical director and producer. Times Picayune-Hot Picks of the Week/Lagniappe, New Orleans, LA

She can sing it sweet, with grit, with zing, with smoke, with salt. The title is Southern Exposure but this is Doring Exposed, a gem of many facets, polished to a fine sheen. Andrea Canter, Jazzpolice.com
